April Wine Judging Class

Our long standing instructors Doug Hudson, Larry Moore, and Steve Kroll are offering the Purple Foot wine judging class this April for interested members. This is an excellent opportunity to hone your skills in evaluating and judging wine.

If you are interested, please contact Doug Hudson to get on the list, as space is limited. The wine judging course is highly recommended for those who have not taken it. It is a full day and lunch is provided. Cost is $20 per person, which covers lunch and wines.

• Introduction, overview, outline of day

• Review of homework

• Use of scoring sheet, aroma and defect wheels

• Responsibilities of table judges

• Wine components and balance

• Wine faults

• Grape varieties and fruits

• Wine scoring practice

• Final exam

Rob Fowler and Pete Muelepas will also be attending as they plan to take over instructing in the future.
